Raven drifted awake slowly to the

sound of running water as a light

breeze fluttered around her. She was

still exhausted from their long night

of loving and wanted to go back to

sleep. Turning her head away from

the faint light, the scent of grass

tickled her nose as she tried to bury

her head in the pillow…that wasn’t

there.

Wait, that wasn’t right…

What the fuck?

Her eyes popped opened and she

blinked. Oh, come on! Why the hell

did this shit keep happening to her?

No longer tucked between her

mates in her new room, Raven

looked around to see that she was

lying on a bed of bright green grass.

She was at the edge of a purple

waterfall in a small clearing that was

closed off by a wall of rocks and

weird looking trees that looked like

weeping willows, only the tendrils

had bright purple and green flowers

blooming from the hanging vines.

Soft rays of sunlight shone down into

the clearing, highlighting the beauty

of the scenery.

But that didn’t stop Raven from

wondering how the hell she got there.

“Ah, you are awake.”

The sound of the deep male voice

had Raven moving quickly. She tried

to roll to her feet, preparing to defend

herself, but her feet got caught up in

the long gown she wearing. Looking

down in confusion, she saw she had

on a dress made of a thin material

that thankfully still covered all her

naughty bits. The color was the dark

silver of her mates’ house, but it

seemed to move like liquid mercury

over her body like a living, breathing

entity. Still, she was glad for the

cover, no matter how strange it was.

She glanced up then her jaw

dropped.

There

before

her

stood

an

absolutely huge man. No, not a man, a

being who shimmered in the early

dawn light. The sun’s rays seemed to

reach down from the sky as if they

worshiped him so his skin sparkled

with a dark-golden hue. He stood at

around ten feet tall and the small

white toga wrapped around his trim

waist did nothing to hide his

powerful physique and thick, bulging

muscles that would have been

enticing if he wasn’t so damn

intimidating.

He had the face of a god, so

handsome it didn’t seem real, and his

long, pale blond hair blended into the

sunlight so it was almost impossible

to see. His dark, golden eyes burned

with such intensity it was difficult to

meet his gaze. It felt like he was

looking inside her, seeing everything

she was, everything she was thinking,

and was ready to damn her for it.

“I am the God of the Sun, Silas.”

The God of the Sun? Really? What

the hell was she doing talking to a

God? That is, if this was real. Maybe

this was some weird dream from too

much sex before bed or—

He let out an exaggerated sigh and

propped on his hips in the stance of a

warrior. “I am not some sexual

figment of your imagination, mortal,”

he growled.

Well, okay then. How the hell did

he know what she was—

“Did you miss the God part?” He

looked up at the sky and sighed again.

“Your warriors need to do their duty

and

teach

you

about Arcadia

properly.”

Raven’s eyes narrowed on him, but

she was baffled by the sparkle of

amusement that made his glowing

eyes burn brighter. Before she could

speak, he folded his hands behind his

back in a casual stance and paced

closer to the pool. Raven slowly rose

and

moved

away

from

him,

mimicking his movements to keep

him at a distance.
